I Got To Play Yesterday

I finaly took some time for me yesterday. I was walking away from my cricut yesterday when Wayne asked, "working on more orders?" I answered, "no, I cut out a title for my scrapbook page." He was surprised.

I made 3 pages. I of my step grandaughter Kamdyn. I used Tattered Angels glimmer mist on the chipboard k. It covered it nicely and has a little sparkle. I used word stickers from different sheets I had hanging around. Thanks to my friend Terry who did a similar thing on a page she did. I used one of my new border punches I got on the black paper at the bottom. I added a bling pink heart.

Then I did 2 pages of my niece Kenzie. 1 for me and 1 for my sisiter. They were done similar except for the title. I cut the title with my Cricut Jasmyn cart. I used some yellow floral pattern paper I have had for ages. I cut a duck from my Cricut Doodlecharms cart. I popped the top part of the body up with foam adhesive. Then I added flock to the center to mimic the fuzzy duck in the book I was reading to her in the picture. I used Studio G flock. I have to say I have been dissapointed with that flock. I need to get some of the origional stuff. What did I expect for $1?

They have called off our workshop at school today. Irene must have impacted some areas more than I thought. We didnt lose our power here. Blinked a few times but that was it.

I guess that I get 1 extra day off before this school year begins. I think I will try to get some more pages done. Felt good doing something for myself yesterday.

My camping trip

I had a relaxing time at camp last week. We go every year for my son Howard's Birthday. Time away from civilization and electronics. The boys spent time fishing, exploring, talking, widling and taking canoe rides. I think it was great to get away from everyday distractions. My favorite thing is hanging out around the campfire at night.

I have added some pictures I had on my phone of my boys. I have lots more I took with my camera. Pictures to turn into more scrapbook pages for our camping album.

I hope everyone got to have a little getaway this summer. If you did where did you go?

Tornado in Embden, Maine

I know that this tornado isn't nearly as bad as some of the ones that have happened this year. It is unusual for us here in Maine. Tornadoes are something we just don't get. So here in Maine this has been a big deal. My heart and prayers go out to all those states that have gotten tornadoes that have taken lives.

My fiance's nephew is the first man to be interviewed.

I'm Scrapping Again

It feels so good to be scrapbooking again. I haven't done it in a while. This is my niece Kenzie. She is so adorable. I used some heart lace ribbon i have had forever. I have done 4 pages so far. I have a few more ideas in my head. I might do a few cards later on too.

Snow Day

The sound of snowplows seems so wrong this morning. They say we could get up to 14". I am hoping the amounts are off. I don't realy want to shovel again. We have no school. Some are upset by this because it meens 2 extra school days. I say look on the bright side. We do have summer off. I used to work in a kitchen behind the grill all year round. No air conditioning when it was 90 degrees and over. The saying goes that in a kitchen you can add 10 degrees to whatever it is outside. Nothing like cooking and having to wipe the sweat that keeps rolling down your neck. I don't miss those days at all.
I think I will use this day to get some new things listed in my shops. Then maybe some scrapbooking for me and jewelery making.
I know the boys will use this day just to play xbox live. That is ok, it will be fairly quiet. All I will here is "what's for lunch?" The answer today will be grilled cheese or chicken burgers. I am going to take it easy and do housework tomorrow.
